The Australasian Human Development Association (AHDA) is excited to announce our 2020 Online Conference will be held on October 22nd and 23rd!

Breaking the isolation barrier: Reconnecting through research on human development across the lifespan.

Submissions are now closed

AHDA is the only society of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and brings together a community of researchers including educators, academics, and practitioners from Australia, New Zealand and Asia who all share interests in the social and cognitive development of young people. One of the functions of the organisation is to bring together our membership to participate in biennial conferences either in Australia or New Zealand. The conference serves as a venue for the latest research findings on applied and basic aspects of human development within the Australasian region. The conference includes invited and investigator-initiated symposia, lectures, and poster presentations.

AHDA’s 2019 Online Conference (held via Zoom) was a great success, with 52 registrations and 22 presentations on the day. A total of 10 institutions across Australia and New Zealand were represented in attendance. The conference also included 2 keynote presentations from Professor Susan Danby and Professor Melanie Zimmer-Gembeck.

In 2020, we are bringing back a bigger and better online conference! Many face-to-face conferences have unfortunately been postponed or cancelled due to the devastating impacts of COVID-19. Thanks to our subsequent move towards and experience with digitally-mediated meetings, we hope that more AHDA members and human development researchers from the Australasian region will get involved with our online conference this year.

The 2020 AHDA Online Conference will be held over two days: October 22nd and 23rd. Submissions open to symposia (3-4 thematically related talks), individual talks, and individual “poster” presentations.
